Release note : Certificate Control Station (CCS) V1.8.2 – EN
We are pleased to announce the release of the new version 1.8.2 of the Certificate Control Station (CCS). This new version includes the following improvements.
Improvements
New CA provider DigiCert Europe
In order to improve the quality of service of the Certificate Control Station (CCS), we have entered in partnership with a new Certificate Authority (CA), DigiCert Europe, to replace the former provider QuoVadis in the issuance of Organization Validated (OV), and Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificates.
This change in provider brings a more robust level of security throughout the certificate ordering process thanks to additional validation steps.
Strengthened ordering process security
DigiCert Europe provides verification of the domain owner’s identity, as well as other information as it relates to the company concerned.
For the ordering of EV certificates, an additional approval step has been added to the ordering process. This includes a new status that has been added to the Certificate Control Station (CCS) interface indicating when an order is pending approval (“Need Approval”) by the organization validator.
New visual identity
In order to make the Graphical User Interface (GUI) of the CCS more consistent with the new branding of the CertEurope company and the InfoCert group, we have updated the visual identity of the CCS V1.8.2 to reflect those changes.
The application now benefits from the new logo and color scheme of the CertEurope brand.
Bug fix
In the previous version, when viewing the order details of certificates with an issuance error, the interface displayed a button allowing for the order to be refused.
However, it is not possible to refuse an order with this status: only orders pending validation can be refused.
As a result, we have corrected this display error in V1.8.2 of the CCS.
